Shingle Revival

A lthough this 1940s Federal style house had undergone a recent renovation, the owners requested a remodeling better suited to their needs and decorative preferences. A Greek Doric portico replaces the original entry. Desiring a relaxed rustic interior, the remodeled family room includes antique beams and a limestone fireplace mantle.

Inspired by one the couple saw on Capri, a custom oak door with iron detailing was created for the side entry. Custom china cabinets and a butler’s pantry added storage in the kitchen. An additional wing integrates a private guest suite above a two-car garage, exercise room and a wine cellar.

Extending the rustic atmosphere to the exterior, an elegant granite archway leads to the new pool cabana featuring a slate and timber pavilion for entertaining.
